Ubisoft has revealed the official requirements requirements of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. This, so to speak, is the aftermath of the press screening, which enabled journalists to check out this year's next big release from the French publisher.
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora - PC hardware requirements
Recently, we've had quite a few instances of titles that would have performed at least pretty well - if it weren't for their system requirements or, rather, optimization (except for one glorious exception in the form of Alan Wake 2). Unfortunately, Ubisoft's announcement is unlikely to offer any hope to launch Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora on weaker hardware.
The minimum requirements don't fare too badly - in this configuration, a chip from seven years ago is enough to play, which loses even to the GeForce RTX 2060. Another thing is that the GTX 1070 is supposed to allow for playing only at 30 frames per second on low settings, and even this is supposed to be possible provided that FidelityFX Super Resolution 2 technology is used (the equivalent of Nvidia's DLSS from AMD).
This is perhaps most striking: Ubisoft has added information about the use of FSR 2 with each of the listed configurations. Nevertheless, already in the recommended requirements (1080, 60 fps, high graphics settings) an RTX 3060 appears. To play on ultra settings at 4K resolution, an RTX 4080 equivalent is required, and on high settings at 2K - an RTX 3080.
Nevertheless - for better or worse - the system requirements of Frontiers of Pandora do not deviate from those recommended by the devs of other recent games (including. Alan Wake 2). It's also worth noting that the game is expected to offer quite a few graphics options, which should make it easier to adjust the look and performance on different devices (and a tool to test these settings in-game). Details can be found in our previous post.
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora will debut on December 7, 2023. The title will also be released on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles.
